This past week, one of TripCam's drivers was shot at. Fortunately the driver wasn't hit, but we were unfortunately reminded of the vital importance

of taking every precaution to keep yourself safe as you drive. For the driver who was shot it, he was lucky and was able to get away safely.

But what happens if YOU ARE ever involved with a dangerous encounter? Here are a few tips:

First, you should remember to always have your TripCam recorder on for every ride. Even if the rider seems ok, things can quickly escalate at any time (

even during the end of rides) and you want to be sure to have footage that can be used to back you up.

Second, if you suspect your rider might be up to something suspicious, you can ask to see their ID. If they don’t want to show you, you can pull your car over and politely ask them to leave.

Third, if your rider is drunk or belligerent, pull your car over and ask them to leave politely. If they don’t want to leave, you can call your local law enforcement officials to have them escorted from your ride.

As a ride-sharing driver, you’re offering a valuable service for lots of people, but always be sure to put your safety first before you pick up any passenger.
